Saturday 26th Feb 2022 saw us heading out on our first long tour on the road with Rosie the Hymer Motorhome. We'd spent the previous week getting her ready mechanically and packing what few things we would need including some extra bedding for our much anticipated friends that will hopefully join us along the way. Up at 7am we embarked on loading the final things we would need for our journey.
After saying our goodbyes to our lovely neighbours we set off to get fuel and a much needed late breakfast for us both in Harrogate. Thankfully diesel prices were still less than £1.50 a litre and once we'd filled up (over £100), checked the tyres we were off..........and then we weren't!Less than five minutes from leaving the supermarket, driving along a main road a young motorcyclist decided to drive out from his side road right in front of us. Fortunately for him my quick reaction to drive to the right, gave him room to not come off and go under the rear wheels. Alas Rosie did suffer some damage to the rear side where his handle bar dented the bodywork.
After exchanging insurance details and me advising the young man to probably change his underpants when he got home, we continued on our journey to York. Tonight we would be parking on my brothers drive so we could enjoy one of our famous family parties that would see our Aunties, Uncles, Brothers, Sisters, Siblings and hangers on attending.
